I tried so hard,
when each loss was
as a shard
striking against
my confidence—
cutting me up,
tearing me apart,
leaving these gashes
on my heart.
I wanted to be
so much more—
but doubt was lurking,
a constant war.
It was then
I gave it all away—
all of the failure
fell to decay.
I gave it to God,
who laid it to rest;
repairing my damage,
He made me my best.
